Enhancing the Soft Skills of State Funded Legal Aid Lawyers from Across Georgia

05 March 2018 Training participants working on a group assignment

On March 1-3, USAID-funded EWMI/PROLoG organized a training for state funded Legal Aid Service (LAS) bureau chiefs, consultants and managers on effective communication and conflict resolution. The training was attended by 21 lawyers representing different regions of Georgia.

During the three-day workshop the participants were introduced to the importance of having good communication skills for workplace success. The communication expert overviewed different methods of effectively using communication channels, talked about conflict resolving tools and how to respond them effectively, and other related issues. The second half of the training was devoted to practical exercises, where participants used the knowledge acquired at the training.

PROLoG has been working with the LAS since 2015 to build up its institutional capacity and strengthen the quality of legal assistance provided by its lawyers to the socially indigent population of Georgia. This training was implemented under the PROLoG component designed to improve the management of justice system institutions.
