USAID/PROLoG Supports Sixth National Client Counseling Competition for Law Students

22 February 2018 Free University Tbilisi team interviewing a Client

On February 15-18, in the framework of its USAID-funded EWMI/PROLoG grant, Free University Tbilisi organized sixth National Client Counseling Workshop and Competition for law students.  This competition simulates a law office environment and students “lawyers” consult “clients” (played by actors) while being judged on their interviewing and problem solving skills by a panel of judges.  The competition was preceded by a two-day intensive workshop where participating teams honed relevant skills, such as listening, interviewing and reading body language, and practiced these skills in simulated sessions.  This year teams from Free University, Caucasus University (CSL), New Vision University, Georgian Technical University, ILIA State University and Sokhumi State University participated and competed for the title of national champion. First place and the title of a national champion was bestowed upon the Free University team, while teams from Caucasus and New Vision Universities took second and third places, respectively. The national championship team will participate at the International Competition representing Georgia, which will be held at the University of Maastricht, Netherlands in April 2017.
