Working Group meeting between the Parliament, MOJ and HCOJ on Judicial Reform Main Directions held in Kobuleti

On August 22-23, second meeting of the working group meeting between the Parliament, MOJ and HCOJ on Judicial Reform Main Directions was held in Kobuleti.  The representatives of the legal Affairs Committee, Ministry of Justice as well as fourteen members of the HCOJ participated in the meeting together with the representatives of supporting international organizations/donors.

Legislative reform initiatives to reduce the caseload and backlog, as well as suggestions on improved rules on judicial discipline were introduced and discussed during the workshop. The participants listed specific suggestions which need to be drafted as amendments and discussed among the institutions.

Representatives of the international donor organizations USAID funded EWMI/PROLoG, EU4Justice and CoE supported working meeting and participated at the discussion.  The next working meeting will be organized in coming months to discuss the specific legislative changes related to the topics discussed in Kobuleti and other reform priorities in the justice sector.
