USAID/PROLoG Supports Winter School on Human Rights During the Covid-19 Pandemic

On March 25-29, in the framework of the USAID/PROLoG grant, Georgian Law Institute (GLI) organized an online winter school on “Human Rights During the Covid-19 Pandemic.” 33 law students from 11 universities (Ilia State University, Akaki Tsereteli State University, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani Teaching University, Free university Tbilisi etc.) across the country participated.
The training sessions were led by local expert, Mr. Konstantine Vardzelashvili, Mr. Giorgi Burjanadze, Mr. Davit Zedelashvili and Mr. Levan Maisuradze, and covered: case law and international experience related to the realization of human rights; the prohibition of torture; inhuman and degrading treatment; freedom of movement; freedom of religion and the rule of law in times of emergency.
