USAID/PROLoG Supports Training on Child Rights for Court Personnel

24 March 2021 USAID/PROLoG Supports Training on Child Rights for Court Personnel

From December 2020 to March 2021, with USAID/PROLoG support, High School of Justice (HSoJ) organized trainings on Child Rights for 291 court personnel from various courts around the country, including 162 judicial assistants, 93 clerks and 36 employees of the chancellery, following on the Georgian parliament passing a new Code on Child Rights in September, 2019. The Code regulates issues of Child rights and freedoms, creates a legal framework for the functioning of support systems and requires specialized interdisciplinary training for all actors within the justice system who have contact with a child.

USAID/PROLoG and the HSoJ, updated the training module developed by UNICEF, and prepared judge-trainers over four days. The updated training module is a three-day course: one day devoted to legal aspects, the other two involving a psychologist and a social worker.
