Free University Tbilisi Organizes First Online Moot Court Competition in Human Rights Law

On 14-15 November, 2020, in the framework of the USAID/PROLoG grant, Free University of Tbilisi organized the first ever online Moot Court Competition in Human Rights Law, a unique experience for both participants and organizers. 7 teams from 3 Georgian Universities (Free University of Tbilisi, Tbilisi State University and Ilia State University) participated. The topic of the competition was the right to a fair trial. During the competition, students used the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, as well as the case law of the European Court of Human Rights.

The “Temida” team from Tbilisi State University won the competition and the “GL” team from Free University of Tbilisi took second place. Nino Doluashviliof the “Magna Carta” team, from Tbilisi State University, was named the best speaker of the competition
