Online Meeting with PDO on Case Management

21 September 2020 Online Meeting with PDO on Case Management

On September 14, 2020, USAID/PROLoG organized an online meeting with representatives of the Public Defender’s Office (PDO) and Maia Kopaleishvili, a Georgian expert, who was hired to develop a case management document for PDO’s Equality Department. The document will help improve management of anti-discrimination cases. It will include case management rules and procedures, the rules for communication with parties, protocols of oral interviews and oral hearings with parties and third parties, and recommendations on how to assess and process cases.

Participants of the meeting shared their expectations regarding the work to be done, challenges in case management and how to improve it. USAID/PROLoG will support future meetings with the expert and PDO on the development process of the case management document.

This activity is in line with the USAID/PROLoG’s effort in development of anti-discrimination practice and legislation to ensure that basic international and regional human rights standards are observed in the Georgian legal system.
