Training for PDO’s Equality Department on Writing Recommendations

21 September 2020 Training for PDO’s Equality Department on Writing Recommendations

On September 18, 2020 USAID/PROLoG organized an online training for the Public Defender’s Office (PDO) Equality Department on writing recommendations in discrimination cases. Tamas Kadar, Deputy Director and Head of Legal and Policy at the Equinet Europe, conducted the training.

Participants were actively engaged in discussing challenges and expectations, and the process of drafting recommendations, and also presented their own case law examples. Tamas Kadar thoroughly discussed three levels of recommendations--individual recommendations, general proposals and advice to policy-makers and legislation, as well as the types of sanctions and remedies in discrimination cases, and how to follow-up the implementation of recommendations. He also spoke about the practices of different European countries.
