NCCE Hosts Online Meeting on Cases of Ethnic Discrimination During COVID-19 Pandemic
31 July 2020On July 31, in the framework of its USAID-funded EWMI/PROLoG grant, Marneuli and Akhaltsikhe offices of the Network of Centers for Civic Engagement (NCCE) organized an online meeting on cases of ethnic discrimination during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Keti Shubashvili, Head of the Equality Department at Ombudsman’s Office of Georgia, and Nati Gelovani, Inspector of the Human Rights Protection and Investigation Quality Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, made presentations about cases of ethnic discrimination in Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions during the pandemic, media standards for discrimination cases and different mechanisms for the defence of rights.
NCCE, with the support of USAID/PROLoG, aims to improve communication and the exchange of information on Human Rights issues through a series of informational meetings around Georgia.
