USAID/PROLoG Organizes Online Discussion for Judicial School Alumni

08 May 2020 USAID/PROLoG Organizes Online Discussion for Judicial School Alumni

On May 6, USAID/PROLoG organized an online discussion with Judicial School alumni on Labor rights in Covid-19 perspective. Appellate Court Judge, Ms. Ketevan Meskhishvili and Labor Law expert, Mr. Zaqaria Shvelidze discussed the effects of the Coronavirus outbreak on workplaces; contractual relationships, including Georgian labor code and civil code regulations; the rights and responsibilities of employers and workers; and International Labor Law Organization standards. The discussion was followed by a question and answer session. Twenty-five judicial assistants attended and actively participated in the discussion.

The Judicial School Alumni group unites around 150 judicial system representatives, mainly judicial assistants and employees of analytical departments, as well as students who participated in 2018 and 2019 Judicial winter and summer schools organized by USAID/PROLoG, in cooperation with Council of Europe, UNDP, OHCR and EU4Justice, and in partnership with High Council of Justice, Hugh School of Justice and the Supreme Court of Georgia.
