W-Talk—Women in Diplomatic Service

16 April 2020 W-Talk—Women in Diplomatic Service

On April 16, USAID/PROLoG presented a W-Talk live stream on the Project Facebook pagehttps://bit.ly/3ckEXBR, which was hosted by Ana Abashidze, head of PHR. The featured guest was Elizabeth Rood, Deputy Chief of Mission, US Embassy Georgia, who spoke about her background and her experience in different countries, as well as challenges and opportunities for women in the field of diplomacy. She also discussed a politician’s role in the process of gender equality, women in politics, as well as sexual harassment, sex-based discrimination in the workplace and combating violence against women.

“W-Talk” is an initiative of the USAID Promoting Rule of Law in Georgia (PROLoG) program which raises awareness of women's rights and the problems Georgian women face in everyday life. Women speakers from law enforcement, sports, culture, media, business, the arts, and the judiciary will participate in a series of online discussions.
