The selection of students for Legal Ethics Clinical Program is ongoing at Georgian Bar Association. As a result of Georgian Bar Association information campaign on social media the students from Georgian University were registered in clinical program for the first time. Currently there are 6 students registered out of which 4 are from Georgian University, one from the University of Europe and one from Tbilisi State University. Due to the circumstances related to COVID 19 the registration for practical courses has been prolonged until the end of March and students from the following universities might register during this period: Tbilisi State University, National University, SEU, Caucasus University and Black Sea University.

GBA has prepared all the materials for the theoretical part of clinical teaching in electronic format and in case of need is ready to start distance learning in April.

GBA clinical program and development of social media advertisement is supported through a USAID/PROLoG Grant, which aims to support institutional development of the Bar Association. USAID/PROLoG has been working with the Georgian Bar Association to build up and strengthen its capacity since 2015.

Following the outbreak of COVID –19 both USAID/PROLoG and GBA are now running remotely and are for “social distancing” as the best way to combat the spread of the virus. We are all in this together, and only by working together can we defeat this disease.
