USAID/PRoLoG supports Constitutional Law, Human Rights and Public Policy Summer School

USAID/PRoLoG supported the Ilia State University summer school on Constitutional Law, Human Rights and Public Policy on July 26- August 6 for twenty six students from different law schools of Georgia, Ukraine and Armenia. The program was designed to help students and young professionals learn theoretical and practical aspects of constitutional and international human rights law. Constitutional, human rights and criminal law experts from the USA, UK and Georgia taught various topics, including: Development of Constitutional Review in Georgia; The Relevance and Importance of Human Rights in Constitutional Law and Policy; Human Rights and Democracy: the Role of the Jury; and Public Forums/Private Platforms: The New Battleground of Free Expression. PRoLoG expert, Prof. Bridget Arimond from Northwestern University, Chicago also shared her knowledge with students on Investigating Allegations of Police Abuse.

The summer school also concentrated on teaching professional skills and case investigation. Students worked on simulated cases and drafted practical recommendations.
