Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, National Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution (NCADR) - Improve online teaching and online representation of clients in mediation by clinical students
Period/Duration: 10.15.2020 – 03.15.2020
Amount: $ 3,800
Project Description: the project aims to improve access to justice for citizens through online mediation service, improve online teaching and representation in mediation by clinical students. For this end, they will redevelop National Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution (NCADR) web page so that the clinic can function at a distance. Through this project, the current web page will be able to display information regarding mediators, procedures, forms and scheduling; facilitate electronic submission of cases, and actual mediation will be conducted over Zoom. Up until now prospective clients had to physically visit the clinic, receive information and go through the mediation procedures, which will likely be severely restricted in the fall, when the academic year starts. With moving the mediation services online, the clinic will be able to maintain its live client nature, TSU clinical students will be able to access this important experience in client representation skills and clients will be able to benefit from free-of-charge services that the clinic provides.
The project is financed through the COVID-19 Rapid Response Grants Program.
